Steven Platt
Regional Herpetologist (Southeast Asia) and Southeast Asian Crocodile Program Technical Advisor
Steven Platt holds a Ph. D in Zoology from Clemson University, South Carolina. He also has a M. Sc. in Biology and a B.S.F in Forestry with Wildlife Management Option. His dissertation was on the ecology and status of Morelet's crocodile in Belize. His work in Laos is with the crocodile project in Savannakhet.
Phouthone Sisavath
Southeast Asian Crocodile Project Coordinator
Tong earned his Bachelor Degree in Business Administration at Comcenter College. During his studies there, he started his career with a travelling agency before moving to the Insurance Due Lao. Because of his own interest and passion to be part of biodiversty conservation and community development, he started working for WCS to pursue and fullfil this goal. He recently completed a Masters degree in Business in New Zealand and is now working for WCS as a Project Coordinator
Phaivone Chanlaunphome
Southeast Asian Crocodile Project Accountant
Phaivone graduatd from accounting and joined the WCS team working in Savannakhet. She particularly enjoys heading to the field as this is something different for an accountant.
Phakham Ounthanekhone
Southeast Asian Crocodile Monitoring Coordinator
Peter completed his bachelor of Forestry from the National University of Laos in 2001. He wrote his final year thesis on survey methods for Asian elephants. He was part of the field team undertaking only the second ever formal population estimate for Asian elephants in the Lao PDR.
