Anita Bousa
Wildlife Monitoring Program Coordinator
Anita graduated with a Bachelor of Sciene in Biology from the National Univerity of Lao PDR in 2007 with an emphasis on wildlife monitoring. Anita worked for WCS from 2007-2011 as a project field coordinator, conducting surveys on tiger and tiger prey populations in Nam Et – Phou Louey NPA. She recently returned from a one year internship with Earth Corps and is now back with WCS coordinating wildlife monitoring projects in various sites.
Ben Swanepoel
Bolikhamxay Landscape Program Coordinator
Ben completed his Nature Conservation Diploma in South Africa in 1987, and has been involved in protected area management for the past 27 years in the South African context. He has a wealth of experience in the fields of wildfire management, catchment management and community conservation projects. He remained in conservation in South Africa through the time of political change in the country, having a strong mentoring and community engagement phylisophy. Ben was one of a two person team instumental for the design and implimentation of one of the leading conservation services programs in South Afrcia, the "Working For Water" program. In 2003, Ben obtained a degree majoring in environmental management and industrial psycology. In 2009 for a two year period, Ben was seconded to WWF Laos as a Protected Area Management specialist, working on the Xe Pian NPA. During that time he was also responsible for the desin and planning of the PA componant of the of the cross boundry Greater Animites (Laos / Vietnam) Biodiversity Carbon Preservation Project started in 2010. Ben has worked with WCS since 2011.
